Girls in over 20 High Schools will receive a full pack of menstrual pads from Always brand through its partnership with HerFlow Foundation to end Period Poverty in Jamaican schools. The menstrual pad brand has committed to donate just over 13,000 packs of pads through the #EndPeriodPoverty Campaign.

Shelly-Ann Weeks speaks at the Launch

HerFlow started the campaign October 2018 with a call to the public through social media to contribute menstrual products that are donated to children the rural and innercity schools. It’s estimated that approximately 100,000 girls are registered on the National School Feeding Program that provides lunch for students who cannot afford it.

“We assume that if they cannot afford lunch, then they will not be able to afford menstrual products as well.” Shelly-Ann Weeks, Founder and Executive Director of HerFlow Foundation explains.

From May 22 to June 22, Weeks and her team will be visiting selected schools to distribute the products to all the girls present on that day.

Fitness Coach and Author, Kamila McDonald has signed on to be the Campaign Brand Ambassador and will be visiting select schools during the tour.
